
Fredrik Schenholm specializes on capturing the unique moments of extreme sports in the best of mountain and outdoor environments. His images are published in Outside magazine and Guiness World Book of Records, as well as the National Geographic’s image stock agency.
He spends most of his time in Alpine settings from Mount Everest to Mont Blanc, Matterhorn to the highest volcanoes on the globe but also the glaciers of Iceland and Norway. His ambition is to continuously find the best angle to catch the unique moment of the adventures in their challenging environments. Ropes, skis and a solid ice ax is part of what he carries in addition to his advanced photo equipment.
Fredrik operates with Gothenburg on the West Coast of Sweden as his base. The hunt for the adventure has taken him to a number exciting mountains like Mount Everest, Eiger, Matterhorn, Mount Blanc as well as unique places like Spitsbergen, Iceland, the Yosemite, Mount Fuji, and several other explosive volcanoes.
Fredrik is a very active lecturer, teaching outdoor photography and also putting up a number of annual exhibitions showing not only his best photos of advanced outdoor life but also various geologically interesting places. As an educated geologist he combines his passion for outdoor photography with a burning interest for geology.
